That included District 5 council representative and Decatur native Jacob Ladner\, who at their first meeting after being sworn in was elected council president at age 34 - the youngest person to ever hold that position.\n\n\n\nAt the next Emerging Leaders series event Dec. 15\, Ladner will discuss his role on the council as president\, his personal leadership story\, his vision for city government and how young professionals can be engaged in the life of our city.\n\n\n\nJacob graduated from Decatur Heritage Christian Academy\, and after graduating from the University of North Alabama\, he returned to Decatur to begin his career and start his family. Jacob has worked for Interstate Billing Service\, a commercial finance company\, for 10 years where he serves as the Vice President of Sales and Client Experience.\n\n\n\nPresented by Alabama Credit Union\, Emerging Leaders welcomes anyone 20-40 to the virtual series to both grow as a leader and connect with other young professionals in the community.
