The Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce's annual State of Education Forum, presented by Pepsi Cola Decatur, LLC, is set for Tuesday, November 4 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Decatur Riverfront. Don't miss this chance to engage with key educational leaders in our community and gain insights into the state of education in Decatur-Morgan County. Panelists may include Superintendents of Decatur City Schools, Morgan County Schools and Hartselle City Schools alongside the Presidents of Calhoun Community College and Athens State University. The SuperStar Teacher program recognizes teachers in the Decatur-Morgan County area who show excellence in leadership, creativity, and imagination in and out of the classroom setting. SuperStar Teachers make learning fun, support their students and are active in their community. They will be recognized by the Chamber and sponsors in a school setting a given a $150 gift card for use in their classroom and a $50 gift card for personal use. School principals will submit nominations via a form provided by the Chamber and judging will be conducted by sponsors and one member of the Chamber?s Board of Directors.

The Women in Business Celebration - Professional Development Conference will be held in the morning before the 2025 Women In Business Celebration luncheon. Presenters will speak on topics relative to women in business. The luncheon will also feature the presentation of the 2025 ATHENA Leadership Award, an honor presented across the world by Chambers of Commerce, women's organizations and universities. The ATHENA Leadership Award is sponsored by Redstone Federal Credit Union.
