2025 Educational Camps - Cyber Camp #2 - Advanced Level
The five-day summer camp at Calhoun Community College's Decatur Campus are perfect for 9th-12th grade students eager to learn hands-on technical skills for high-paying, in-demand careers. With each camp offering space for 25 participants, students will dive into the world of cyber security, explore Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and understand multiple numbering systems used in network addressing and configuration. They will also gain experience in vulnerability identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation techniques, Wi-Fi security, IP addressing and informational ethics. Sponsoring the Cyber Camps connects your brand with future members of the cyber industry while supporting them in gaining valuable, high-demand skills as well as partnering you with Calhoun Community College to help meet our local workforce development needs. This is the second of two Cyber Camps. The first camp, beginner level, will be held simultaneously. The Chamber's Educational Camp programs feature hands-on and interactive environments where students receive training and exposure to careers of the future. Automotive, Cyber, Healthcare, Precision Machining and SWeETy camps will be the featured programs for 2025, along with the potential of others added based on the needs of our workforce community. The audience will include high school students and education leadership teams in Decatur-Morgan County.

This intensive five-day camp provides students with practical hands-on exposure to the world of CNC machining, part design, and modeling. Participants will have the opportunity to learn fundamental CNC programming skills, including tasks such as configuring tool offsets, setting up machines, and operating CNC equipment safely and proficiently. Additionally, students will be introduced to the use of precision measuring tools. This camp is designed to cater to students entering grades 9 through 12 and takes place at the Advanced Technology Center on the Decatur Campus of Calhoun Community College. The Chamber's Educational Camp programs feature hands-on and interactive environments where students receive training and exposure to careers of the future. Automotive, Cyber, Healthcare, Precision Machining and SWeETy camps will be the featured programs for 2025, along with the potential of others added based on the needs of our workforce community. The audience will include high school students and education leadership teams in Decatur-Morgan County.

At this lunch-and-learn event, Chamber members will have the opportunity to meet our staff, network with new members and learn how to use their Chamber membership to its full potential. Members will also learn how to utilize our online Member Information Center (MIC) to submit job openings, news releases and events to the Chamber website.

2025 Partners-In-Education Breakfast & Work Session - Not Open to the Public
The Partners-In-Education program links area businesses and industries with schools in Decatur, Hartselle and Morgan County to provide educational opportunities for the students and increase the awareness of area businesses and industries. Partnerships also heighten awareness of present and future job needs, help improve the education of future employees and customers, and increases understanding of the quality and needs of public school systems, whose health is vital to the community's economic well being. This breakfast and work session for partners and schools is an opportunity to gather to discuss needs for the schools, available resources and a vision for their collaboration.
