System Engineer (MSP)

We are looking for a System Engineer to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment, servers, workstations and software installation in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Responsibilities - MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE

• 5 years + Hands on experience installing and configuring servers, workstations, routers and other network devices.
• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in house servers
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
• Install and update workstations and needed updates
• Experience in the administration of network updates and software
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
• Set up email accounts, DNS
• Resolve problems reported by end user
• Define network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Skills

• Proven experience in a system administrator role
• Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching (installing, configuring, and troubleshooting)
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (Hyper-V)
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Experience with software programs
• Solid networking knowledge
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Great at organizing, prioritizing and multitasking
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Working with multiple clients must be able to be flexible and manage several job details.
• Customer communication is key.
• Documentation updating and maintaining.
