DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct clinical service.  Medication monitoring to clients of the CRU; administer/dispense medication; and completes clinical recording in a timely manner.
  •  Assist clients with access to physician/nurse as needed. 
  • Review physicians schedule. (Examples of tasks: review the schedule for accuracy; inform physician of changes, and meetings).
  •  Charts. (Examples of tasks: organize charts for the day, review charts for release and consent for medication is up-to-date, if not place on chart for physician to complete, ensure patient is being seen by physician as needed, confirm lab work, correspondence, notes are signed and filed in chart appropriately pull charts that are flagged for doctor signature and/or corrections during the day when there is a no-show or during blocked paperwork time, in accordance with Board procedures. Assist in sorting and filing physician medical assessments in the chart.) 
  • Assist physician with office tasks. (Examples of tasks: making appropriate phone calls, taking messages, faxing lab work/EKG to appropriate areas making sure appropriate releases are signed, etc.)
  •  Participates in team effort of the CRU. (Examples of tasks: staff cases with other med unit employees; back up other med staff as needed, etc.) 
  • Provide program support services. Assist psychiatrist, and other nurses as needed.
  •  Participates in insuring quality service. Work is completed in accordance with the DMH/MR Standards. Participates in Peer Review, improvement teams, and attends required training programs.  
  • Participates in the team effort of the organization to make continuous improvements and focus on customer/client satisfaction. Staff cases with other staff members and serves as a backup when necessary.
