Calhoun Kicks off 2025 Graduation Activities

As the academic year draws to a close, Calhoun Community College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of its students during the 2025 commencement season. This year’s graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Propst Arena inside the Von Braun Center (VBC) in downtown Huntsville. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be livestreamed on the college’s homepage at www.calhoun.edu.
 
According to the college’s Office of Admissions, 2,858 students have qualified for graduation. So far, 659 students are scheduled to walk across the stage, with that number increasing daily as graduates continue to confirm their participation. Students who wish to participate can still contact the Admissions Office for more information.
 
“We are incredibly proud of each and every student who has worked so hard to reach this important milestone,” said Dr. Jimmy Hodges, President of Calhoun Community College. “Graduation is a powerful reminder of the transformative role that education plays in our community, and it’s a joy to celebrate the success stories that unfold here each year,” he added.
 
Special ceremonies for Calhoun’s health sciences and academic support programs will begin tomorrow as follows:

• Dental Hygiene Pinning Ceremony – April 30 at 10:30 a.m.
• Adult Education Graduation Ceremony – May 1 at 6:00 p.m.
• Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Pinning Ceremony – May 5 at 2:00 p.m.
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Pinning Ceremony – May 6 at 11:00 a.m.
• Dental Assisting Pinning Ceremony – May 6 at 11:30 a.m.
• Nursing Candlelighting and Pinning Ceremony – May 7 at 11:00 a.m.
• Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Pinning Ceremony – May 8 at 11:00 a.m.
