Calhoun to Host Free Community MLK Day Program Honoring Service, Leadership and Legacy
DECATUR, AL — Calhoun Community College is excited to announce its free annual Martin Luther King Jr. Program on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11 a.m. The event will take place in the Advanced Technology Center Building on Calhoun’s Decatur Campus, located at 6250 Highway 31 North, Tanner, Alabama.
This year’s program will feature guest speaker Youlanda F. Caudle, a highly respected human resources professional, civil rights advocate, and community leader with more than 34 years of experience across the private sector, federal contracting, and public education. The event is open to the public and will commemorate Dr. King’s enduring legacy of service, equality, and social justice.
Ms. Caudle currently serves as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist for Staffing and Recruitment with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Internal Revenue Service, where she provides strategic leadership in workforce planning and recruitment. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, and is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
A passionate advocate for civil rights and community empowerment, Ms. Caudle serves as First Vice President of the Huntsville–Madison County NAACP and Chair of Women in the NAACP (WIN). Under her leadership, WIN has spearheaded initiatives including voter engagement efforts, literacy programs, scholarship support for HBCU students, gun violence prevention awareness, and community outreach events serving families across North Alabama. She previously served as NAACP Branch President and currently sits on the branch’s Executive Committee.
Ms. Caudle was also appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to the Alabama State Board of Dietitians and remains active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and North Alabama Society for Human Resource Management (NASHRM).
Calhoun Community College’s annual MLK program reflects the institution’s commitment to honoring Dr. King’s vision through education, service, and community engagement.
