Charge Your Vehicle and Help Change Lives with CAPNA

Community Action Partnership of North Alabama (CAPNA) is excited to announce the grand opening of its new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 10 AM CST.

The event will take place at CAPNA's Central Office, located at 1909 Central Parkway SW, Decatur, AL 35601. The charging stations themselves are conveniently situated next door, in front of the CAPNA warehouse at 1921 Central Parkway SW.

Through a successful collaboration with EnviroSpark Energy Solutions, CAPNA has installed four new Level 2 EV charging stations, which went live in September 2024. These stations feature four Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) units, two per pole, and will be expertly managed and maintained by EnviroSpark. These chargers are great for EV drivers looking to top off before arriving at their next location.

Founded in 2014, EnviroSpark has become a leader in the design, installation, and operation of EV charging solutions across the country, with more than 9,200 charging ports installed nationwide. Their commitment to increasing EV infrastructure aligns with CAPNA’s mission to enhance community resources.

In addition to providing a much-needed service for EV drivers in the area, the new charging stations will support CAPNA's essential programs. Thanks to EnviroSpark, 5% of the revenue generated from the stations will be directed toward CAPNA’s programs, including the Meals on Wheels and More initiative. Every charge made at these stations could help provide meals to homebound or disabled adults in the community.
